چکیده

Excitonic effects underpin the fascinating optoelectronic properties of 2D perovskites that are highly favorable for photovoltaics and light-emitting devices. Analogous to switching in transistors, manipulating these excitonic using coherent phonons could unlock new applications. Presently, a detailed understanding this underlying mechanism remains modest. Herein, origins carrier-phonon coupling transient absorption (TA) spectroscopy explicated. The exciton fine structure is modulated by optical dominated vibrational motion PbI6 octahedra via deformation potential. Coherent acoustic phonons in nanostructures investigated by asynchronous optical sampling

A new optical pump-probe technique is implemented for the investigation of acoustic phonon dynamics in the GHz to THz frequency range which is based on two asynchronously linked femtosecond lasers. Asynchronous optical sampling (ASOPS) provides the performance of on all-optical oscilloscope and allows us to record optically induced lattice dynamics over nanosecond times with 200 femtoseconds re...

Optical characterizations of the surface states in hybrid lead-halide perovskites.

Methylammonium lead-iodide (CH3NH3PbI3, hereafter referred to as MAPbI3) perovskite has emerged as a dazzling nova in the solar cell realm. To date, the surface physics of these materials is still puzzling, but in this work, we demonstrate that the optical dynamics in MAPbI3 is primarily determined by the surface states. Pb dangling bonds on the surface of MAPbI3 introduce shallow electronic st...

Electron–acoustic phonon coupling in single crystal CH3NH3PbI3 perovskites revealed by coherent acoustic phonons

Despite the great amount of attention CH3NH3PbI3 has received for its solar cell application, intrinsic properties of this material are still largely unknown. Mobility of charges is a quintessential property in this aspect; however, there is still no clear understanding of electron transport, as reported values span over three orders of magnitude. Here we develop a method to measure the electro...

Two-Dimensional Halide Perovskites: Tuning Electronic Activities of Defects.

Two-dimensional (2D) halide perovskites are emerging as promising candidates for nanoelectronics and optoelectronics. To realize their full potential, it is important to understand the role of those defects that can strongly impact material properties. In contrast to other popular 2D semiconductors (e.g., transition metal dichalcogenides MX2) for which defects typically induce harmful traps, we...

Role of Polar Phonons in the Photo Excited State of Metal Halide Perovskites

The development of high efficiency perovskite solar cells has sparked a multitude of measurements on the optical properties of these materials. For the most studied methylammonium(MA)PbI3 perovskite, a large range (6-55 meV) of exciton binding energies has been reported by various experiments. The existence of excitons at room temperature is unclear. For the MAPbX3 perovskites we report on rela...
